In some situations pregnancy may influence what the applicant presents in her statements.  For example, the circumstances surrounding the conception may form part of the application for international protection or the applicant’s statements may raise credibility issues that can be explained by her individual circumstances (cultural and social background, etc.). In such cases additional sensitive questioning may be necessary.
