victim of human trafficking

The trafficking of adults has three elements 1) the recruitment, movement or receipt of a person by 2) deception or coercion into 3) a situation of exploitation.

Exploitation shall include, as a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, including begging, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude, or the exploitation of criminal activities, or the removal of organs.

unaccompanied minor

minor who arrives on the territory of the Member States unaccompanied by an adult responsible for him or her whether by law or by the practice of the Member State concerned, and for as long as he or she is not effectively taken into the care of such a person; it includes a minor who is left unaccompanied after he or she has entered the territory of the Member States;

trans

an inclusive umbrella term referring to those people whose gender identity and/or a gender expression differs from the sex they were assigned at birth;

trafficking in human beings (THB)

THB refers to the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or reception of persons, including the exchange or transfer of control over those persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.

torture

‘Torture means any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity.

speech impairment

refers to conditions in which the ability to produce speech sounds that are necessary to communicate with others is impaired; severe speech impairment would be the inability to produce any speech sounds;

sexual violence

Includes the following intentional conducts: engaging in non-consensual vaginal, anal or oral penetration of a sexual nature of the body of another person with any bodily part or object, engaging in other non-consensual acts of a sexual nature with a person; causing another person to engage in non-consensual acts of a sexual nature with a third person;
